A fun-packed show at Swindon FM

It was a fun packed show with the Junior Star Singer presenters down at Swindon FM on Saturday 22nd September.  With a combination of artists from around the Swindon area and the JSS team in full swing, it was quite a morning!

Main presenter Amanda Neale and Rachael Summers drove down to Swindon with Junior Star Singer Songwriter's 2017 best vocalist, Chloe Dunne.  With their now traditional early morning stop for Starbucks they were all caffeined up and ready to do the breakfast show on Swindon FM with presenter Shirley Ludford.  Meeting them there were winners of the Junior Star Singer Songwriter 2017 Best Group category, twin brothers Billy and Louie, who also presented our 'Behind the mic' feature, which gives a chance to get to know our contestants.

The brothers were actually contestants on our show at Swindon FM last year, beating competition from around the UK - could this year be a repeat performance for Swindon?

Based on performances from our young contestants at Swindon FM this year, there's no reason to think it couldn't happen! Contestants from Swindon appearing from the show were Zoe Stoneham who sang 'Naughty' from Matilda, Meghan-Leigh Williams who sang 'Scared to be Lonely' by Dua Lipa; Phoebe Maddison who sang 'Run to you' by Whitney Houston; and Reanna Nolan who sang her own original piece. You can watch their performances, together with an amazing acappella performance of Aretha Franklin's 'Think' by Billy and Louie, in our video below:

All of the contestants were interviewed by Amanda Neale and her co-presenter Rachael Summers.

Thanks go as always to Swindon FM's manager Shirley Ludford, who, incidentally, is a bit of a star herself! Shirley is widely recognised for her work with the local community and received the First Horizons College Employer of the Year Award for helping youngsters with special needs volunteer at the station.  She has helped many young artists as well to get exposure on Swindon FM through her shows.

We still have two shows left to go in our 2018 tour, with the final set for mid-December. Keeping watching this space to find out more!
